URGENT! Emergency Aid Needed for Animals of Disaster
The World Society for the Protection of Animals (WSPA) is currently responding to the earthquake in Haiti. The toll that this earthquake has taken on Haiti is enormous and our hearts and thoughts are with the survivors during this time of devastation.
Please help us bring relief to animals at this time of urgent need by making a donation at http://www.wspa-usa.org/
When people's properties are destroyed, animals' homes often disappear too. Wild animals often have to flee their habitat to survive. Domesticated animals are at risk of remaining trapped or abandoned with no food or water. Helping animals affected by disasters not only reduces their suffering, but also helps restore entire communities.
WSPA will provide up-to-the-minute reports as they get more information from teams in the field through the Animals in Disaster blog. |
The Society of Animal Welfare Administrators
(SAWA) is a nonprofit management organization comprised of professional administrators of organizations involved in the animal care and control field.
SAWA was founded in 1970 by six directors of humane organizations located throughout the country. They wanted to have the opportunity to get together - through periodic meetings - with other executives to share their professional concerns and ideas. They recognized that their positions in the humane movement presented unique challenges both personally and professionally and more importantly, unique opportunities.
